This course reinforces and refreshes knowledge gained from the Dignity in Pregnancy & Childbirth course.

Skills that are not used deliberately can fade, especially the split-second habits that shape how nurses assess, communicate, and advocate under pressure. A refresher is a short, focused course that brings those skills back to front of mind and updates them with current evidence, so strong bedside practice does not quietly drift over time.

This 30-minute refresher is for nurses who completed Dignity in Pregnancy and Childbirth about two years ago. It reinforces the core, evidence-based tools for consistent, high-quality perinatal care, sharpens the in-the-moment techniques that interrupt automatic cognitive shortcuts before they affect an encounter, and adds practical strategies and insights introduced since the original course.

Why every two years? Research on adult learning shows that brief, spaced reinforcement is one of the most reliable ways to make skills durable. A single training produces a strong initial effect that naturally weakens as the months pass and a demanding workload pulls practice back toward old defaults. A short booster at regular intervals restores that effect, keeps a whole nursing team practicing consistently, and does it at a fraction of the time and cost of the full course.

For nurses stretched thin, that is the point: real reinforcement in half an hour, with steadier judgment, clearer communication, and more confidence to carry into the next shift.
