Michelle van Ryn, PhD, MPH (she/her) is known for her pioneering research on how hidden influences can shape healthcare interactions and treatment decisions. Founder of the Humanitas Institute (previously Diversity Science), she collaborates with major health systems to cultivate practical, research-based strategies that improve patient experiences and outcomes . A former professor at both Mayo Clinic College of Medicine and Distinguished Professor at Oregon Health & Science University, Dr. van Ryn has secured decades of continuous  support from the National Institutes of Health and has published over 120 scholarly works.
